Kernville

Writer: ehlkarlehlkarl

On a Friday, we journyed to Kernville. Named after artist and topographer, Edward Kern duirng his 1845 expedition.During a gold rush in 1845 the town underwent a few names: Rogersville, Williamsburg and in 1883 named, Whiskey Flat. But , in 1864, the town was once again named forever as

Anyway.....

My sister and Niece's family reserved a rafting rip down the Kern river. Myself and Lucious too off onto our own adventures up the North Kern river. This is a really nice area with Lake Isabella and the Kern river. Clearly, we are not the only one's who admired this area because every camping and picnic site up the North Kern was completely full. I was shocked. This sites looked like little camping communities...so many people.

We did manage to find a small pull over site and after climbing down rocks, the river was waiting. Refreshing. Afterwards, a drive around the area and town then to the park in the center of town for some lunch.

This is really nice park with the Kern flowing through it...families splashing around. The video is from the bridge.
