Leaving Death Valley, I had to cross over into Nevada. My navigation put me through the City of Las Vegas. Traveling through Las Vegas was an adventure in and of itself. Primarily due to the amount of traffic. Insane! But, I made it through. On a side note, that traffic sucked.
In any case, weaved my way to a small corner of Arizona before heading into Utah. I made my Camp ground later than I expected, around 1515 hrs. What a beautiful area! The campground is next to the Virgin river and you just could not ask for anything better from a higher end spot. I know it looks like it is out of magazine, but , I took that picture of the sign.
I could have taken a thousand photo's and none of them would captured the splendor of this area. Traveling through the two tunnels was bitchin! There are two, constructed in 1930. The first is 1.1 miles in length. The other is only about 200 yards. What did suck, however, was having to drive down the mountain and not getting to really stop and look at the scenery.
I will be back to this area for sure!! If you have not ever been, you need to put it on your bucket list.
